No FCC Certificates Are Sent The FCC no longer prints or sends license certificates to amateur radio operators.You may download and print a copy of your license from the FCC website.**** Per the February 2015 Public Notice DA 15-72, The FCC no longer mails paper license authorizations (License Copy).The FCC has decided to go totally electronic so you will not receive a license copy in the mail from the FCC.Amateurs may electronically renew their FCC issued licenses using FCC ULS.FCC permits on-line renewals at 90 days or less before a license will expire, and when the license has expired but is still within the two-year grace period for renewal.

Edit: In response to some comments I’ve read about this post on various social media sites, let me clarify something.

I have no problem with organizations helping to renew licenses, and I don’t have a problem with them doing it for a fee.

In fact, some people have found the below process annoying enough that they’d prefer to do it that way.

Processing Time: The W5YI-VEC operates and observes normal business hours, Monday thru Friday, in the Central time zone.

Applications are processed each working day and are immediately posted to the FCC database.
